“The BCP Forum in Barcelona was of great interest to me, as I could meet with several colleagues managing Business Continuity in the manufacturing industry. Also, it was a chance to hear success stories about how a serious and exercised BCP could save indutrial organizations from too much damage when a disaster strikes. Particularly impressing are stories of swift recovery, and proper communication, leading to actual benefits for the implied company, such as an increase in share value. By opposition, we often hear of companies not knowing about BCM, and which have gone bankrupt following a tragedy; and I personally know of several examples.
The forum is a good way to do benchmarking; to learn best practice on many aspects of BCM; and to do networking. I enjoyed very much discussions with colleagues in my field - manufacturing - , and it is clear that BCM is drawing more and more interest in this particular area. I am hoping for even more participation next year from manufacturing, as our focus is fairly specific, and we benefit a lot from exchanging ideas.” |
